'Art and nature have been a passion throughout my life. I have devoted many years of my life to the art of floristry - both as a practising florist and as a floristry lecturer. Throughout my career, I have been inspired by the endless beauty of nature and the way flowers allow us to express emotion, creativity and connection. Teaching has given me the privilege of sharing not only technical skills but also a deep appreciation for design, colour, texture and form.
Last year, as a project for colleges 'Green Week', I was asked to make clay floral frogs to use with upcycled jam jars and spring daffodils. I enjoyed the organic process and continued along the journey, experimenting in creating designs of my own.
Combining my passion for flowers with this floral artistic medium has opened an exciting chapter in my creative journey. Working with clay has deepened my appreciation for form and texture. It has allowed me to merge two loves - floristry and art- into something uniquely expressive and personal. What started with a small clay floral frog has blossomed into a growing passion, one that continues to inspire and enrich my work'.
